Account and profile data
Sign in with Apple or Google may provide an account identifier, name and email. Talkamble processes display name, birth year, gender preference, bio, spoken languages and matching preferences.
- Matches see only information needed for matching, such as display name, calculated age, city and shared language.
- Surname, email, precise location and full date of birth are not shown to another user.

Location, motion and walking data
Approximate location is read once at the start of a walking session. Precise coordinates are not sent to the server; only a shortened code representing an area of roughly 5 kilometres is processed.
The operating system’s motion classification and step counter verify walking. Raw sensor data is not uploaded; motion state, step delta, confidence and session summaries may be processed.
- Detailed motion reports for closed sessions are retained for troubleshooting for up to 7 days.
- Closed queue records are retained for up to 3 days.

Voice conversations
Realtime voice is transported over WebRTC using LiveKit Cloud. Talkamble does not record normal calls and does not use recording or egress.
End-to-end encryption prevents LiveKit servers from accessing media only when separately enabled in the clients. Talkamble will verify this configuration before making that claim and update this policy accordingly.

Reports, blocks and safety
A report may include its reason, an optional note, match identifier and account identifiers for moderation. The reported account is also blocked.
No audio file is attached while the client-side 30-second evidence feature is disabled. Before enabling it, Talkamble will update consent, this policy and App Store privacy disclosures.

Service providers and transfers
Providers process data under their own contracts and data-processing terms. This policy will be updated if providers or processing regions change.
- Firebase Authentication / Google: sign-in and account security; Firebase Authentication may process data in the United States.
- Apple: authentication when Sign in with Apple is used.
- LiveKit Cloud: realtime voice transport and connection quality.
- Talkamble servers and database: profile, walk, match and safety records.

Deletion and your rights
Use Profile → Delete my account. Notification tokens, location and queue records are deleted; the profile is de-identified and the login identifier is invalidated. Records needed for a legal obligation or an active moderation review may be retained for a limited period.

Children and policy changes
Talkamble is not designed as a service directed at children. Appropriate protection and deletion steps are taken for personal data found to belong to a child.
The date on this page changes when the policy changes; material changes will also be announced in the app.
