MimBop Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 5, 2026 (Version 1.0)
This policy describes how MimBop processes audio data, how voice imitation scoring works, and how user privacy is safeguarded.
1. Data Controller & Contact
The data controller for MimBop is independent developer Ahmet Balaman. For privacy inquiries, compliance audits, or rights requests, contact [email protected] (fallback: [email protected]).
2. Microphone & Audio Processing
MimBop is an audio mimicry party game. Microphone access is strictly used to evaluate vocal imitation accuracy against challenge sounds.
- Solo Mode: Microphone audio is captured locally into temporary volatile memory (RAM). On-device DSP algorithms (YIN pitch tracking and MFCC timbre analysis) compute the similarity score. Audio is immediately purged from RAM upon round completion. Audio never leaves your device in solo mode.
- Online Party Mode: When playing in an online room, your short vocal recording (1.5–2.5 seconds) is compressed using 16 kHz ADPCM and sent to consented peers in the room for the round reveal. Audio takes are stored in volatile RAM on peers’ devices solely for playback and purged when changing rounds. MimBop servers never permanently store takes.
- No Biometric Identification: Recordings are never used for biometric profiling, surveillance, tracking, or AI model training.
3. User-Generated Content (UGC) & Safety
In full compliance with Apple App Store Guideline 1.2 and Google Play UGC policies, the following safety protections are built-in:
- Zero Tolerance: Harassment, hate speech, sexually explicit sounds, and abusive content are strictly prohibited.
- One-Tap Mute: Instantly silence any participant in the room with a single tap during or after listening.
- Persistent Block: Block abusive users to permanently mute them and avoid future matchmaking.
- In-Game Reporting: Report violators directly to our moderation system with contextual diagnostic data.
4. Local Storage & Identifiers
Gameplay progress, earned coins, unlocked sound packs, and high scores are saved locally on your device storage (PlayerData).
Multiplayer rooms use random 6-character room codes (e.g. MIMBOP) and anonymous session GUIDs that are never linked to your personal identity.
5. Data Deletion & Rights
Under GDPR and global privacy frameworks, you have the right to access, rectify, and delete your data. You can erase local game data at any time via in-app Settings. For full remote request procedures, see our Data Deletion page.
6. Age Rating & Children
MimBop is intended for audiences aged 13 and older (or 10+ with parental guidance). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
