Bangkok Day Five: 32 Bar X Chocolate Maker, The Mall LifeStore, and June Pang Dessert Shop
We wanted to start our fifth day in Bangkok at 32 Bar X, a place that makes its own chocolate. Throughout the day we followed a surprisingly colorful route, from a shopping mall full of million-dollar cars to an unexpected encounter and one of the city's best desserts. It was one of those days that best captures the random, surprise-filled spirit of Bangkok.
32 Bar X: A Place That Makes Its Own Chocolate
We started the day at 32 Bar X. To be honest, the thing that surprised me most was its reputation. Earning a 4.9 rating with more than 3,000 reviews on Google Maps is no easy feat. We trusted that score and went.
But from the outside, the place looked like an absolutely abandoned building. We figured "this must be the concept" and walked in. These kinds of boutique spots that make their own chocolate sometimes gain their character from exactly this unexpected exterior.
The Mall LifeStore: A Shopping Mall or a Car Show?
From there we moved on to a shopping mall. But the place we walked into as a "mall," The Mall LifeStore (Bangkapi), had turned into a full-blown million-dollar car show. After watching the cars for a while and daydreaming as a young Turkish guy, we headed up to the cinema area on the upper floors.
Honestly, I was a bit taken aback. While I expected a classic cinema lobby, what I found instead was a complete production world. From Baby Yoda to anything you can imagine related to the theme, they had filled the space with it all. Even if you don't catch a movie, it's worth stopping by just to see this area.
The Randomness of Bangkok: An Unexpected Encounter
As we left the mall, something completely unexpected happened; we ran into a former Fenerbahçe footballer. Those who recognize his face can write who it is in the comments.
This is exactly one of my favorite things about Bangkok: the randomness of the city. It makes you feel like you're playing GTA in real life; you never know when, where, or who you'll run into.
June Pang: A Dessert Shop Known for Its Creamy Milk Toast
We ended the day with the best dessert our budget allowed. The place we went, June Pang, is especially known for its creamy milk toast. We really enjoyed it and left satisfied. After a busy day, such a sweet finish was exactly what we were looking for.

Final Thoughts
Our fifth day in Bangkok turned out far more surprising than we had planned. A chocolate maker that looks abandoned yet holds a 4.9 rating, million-dollar cars inside a mall, an unexpected familiar face, and creamy desserts to crown the day... This city is truly a master at turning even an ordinary day into an adventure.
If you have a friend who'd want to try this dessert, feel free to send them this post. Ask anything you're curious about in the comments. See you at the next stop, take care!
