Bangkok Day Two: Wat Hong and the Wat Arun Plan
Our second day in Bangkok started with a visit to a temple called Wat Hong. The first thing we noticed when we entered was that the architecture was generally beautiful. Its calm atmosphere, detailed decorations, and peaceful surroundings felt like a short escape from the city's busy pace.
We also met Buddhist monks there for the first time. When I learned that they never marry and do not own anything for their entire lives, it naturally made me think. What makes a person who they are: what they own, or the memories they collect in this life? Encounters like this sometimes become more than a travel note and turn into a question that stays with you for a while.
The Feeling of the Temple Visit
Wat Hong was less about being flashy and more about creating a sense of calm. Spending time in temples gives you a different perspective through the silence and order around you. In a city as intense as Bangkok, finding places like this feels especially valuable.
The Wat Arun Plan, But Not Yet
Anyway, let us not drift too far. We could not do much sightseeing today. After the temple, we tried to go to Wat Arun, but unfortunately we did not know it only stays open until 6 p.m., so we could not visit it. Still, we treated that as a plan for the next day rather than a disappointment. We will definitely go tomorrow.
A Short Day, But a Strong Impression
In Bangkok, some of the most memorable experiences do not always come from a long day of sightseeing. Sometimes they come from a short but meaningful stop. That was exactly the case for us at Wat Hong. At the end of the day, what stays with you is not only the rhythm of the city, but also the thoughts it leaves behind.

Final Thoughts
Our second day in Bangkok was not very long, but it still left a strong impression. Wat Hong's peaceful atmosphere and the chance to meet monks made it more than just an ordinary temple visit. Even though we did not manage to see Wat Arun, it only made us more curious for the next day.
